Am I the only one who finds that habit of always adding the city to the team name a bit strange? Especially when the team name already includes the city (JYP, ZSC, TPS...) or when the team is named after a place (Djurgården, Vitkovice...).

I guess its done just to make it easier for viewers from other countries.

I mean like JYP for example, I doubt many people outside of Finland would know what that abbreviation means.

So Tappara is playing without d-men Aalto, Mäntylä and Mäkinen. Replacing them are forwards Kuusela and Peltola. Also number 1 goalie Metsola didn't make the trip and debuting in his place is Czech native Hrachovina, who hasn't played a single Liiga game yet.

Trinec is missing their best goalscorer from Czech league - Tomas Plihal which also played in Liiga in past, I guess... the match is still 0-0 5 minutes to the end of the second. Good defense on both side...

Sparta Praha is the official name of the team, nothing wrong in using it. My pet peeve is when the city is added for no reason, like in "HV71 Jonköping".

Hrachovina played really well, hopefully he gets some Liiga minutes soon.

Färjestad is a joke this year! CHL and SHL both. Tommy Samuelsson must have been the worst addition this team could get. Bloody useless this year.

Djurgården is up 7 - 0 after 2 periods, they are playing great.


And Mickael Samuelsson (former NHL player) is playing good as always and one player, Ljungh, had 4 points (2+2) in just the 2nd period.

Super happy Salzburg just won against Kloten Flyers. Flyers were very passive most of the time but they had some chances. Salzburg way too transparent on the PP.
