Starting off the evening with Helsingfors - Skellefteå and then over to Villach - Frölunda.

Skellefteå should play it safe and avoid further injuries. So should Luleå. I think HIFK will take this and Lukko.

So Växjö-Kalpa plays today, and Sparta tomorrow knowing the result?

There's no real intensity to the games. So, I'd say your projections are pretty accurate. Hope Skellefteå kan equalise. Trailing when you've got nothing to play for is a challenge.

Yeah. However by scoring 2 goals Lukko wins their group before Luleå right?

Gamecenter says: "Back to Lukko Rauma and Luleå situation in group K: Lukko Rauma wins game vs. Luleà 2-0, both teams have 15 points, head-to-head 3 points each, 3-3 GF:GA, this means absolute equality and that Lukko wins group K due to better position in last season’s domestic league."

Villacher's goalie is about as bad as they come. I just looked up his stats, how can this guy even be playing on such a high level? He'd be lucky to keep a tier 3 job in Sweden.

Ha! I should have been watching that game instead. Was swapping a bit in the beginning but switched to the SAIK game in the end.

Ok okey, thanks!

Hmm I wonder if Luleås coach knew this. That would of been some extra fuel to go for 2-1...:sarcasm:

They were already a lock for the playoffs. But as you said, a more interesting matchup going in. You still get a better seeding as #1, I imagine.

Luleå +26, Lukko +12. Not even close. Really strange that the second tie-breaker is domestic league playoffs and not GF:GA difference.:help:
I wonder if they were aware of this going into the matchup. Just really odd.

Stavanger with a victory against Bern this evening and clinched for second place in group E.

Bern was 0-2 up after two periods, then Stavanger delivered a monster third period. Fun to watch :handclap:

For the tie-breaker in the group rankings it's the head-to-head that counts independent on how they played against the other teams in the group.
In their two head-to-head games they are a tie on all the criteria (points, goal difference, goals for, point make-up) so it had to be decided based on the championship results.

The fact remains, Luleå has a much better GF:GA total. That would normally be the tie-breaker to set the teams apart in a situation like this.
