Chicago Blackhawks insider Scott Powers has built a strong reputation for his accuracy on Chicago interests. He was quoted in the Athletic, “It wouldn’t be surprising if the Blackhawks tried to use this pick in a trade”

He then tweeted saying he doesn’t think the Hawks will make the pick at 25. I don’t have the tweet on hand, but it was mentioned in one of the threads on these boards.

Ideally, the Hawks would like a player in their early to mid 20’s that they can see as a long term fit somewhere in their middle 6.

If the Hawks were to use this pick in a trade, along with 1 or 2 other assets like the 34th oa pick, other prospects, etc… what would you trade for it?

Late 1st/early 2nd in 25 is like the 14 draft in the dame range.

In 2014 draft after the top 20, the next 30 players had more of late 2nd/3rd round scored prospects

Who could they acquire-- an RFA who the team might gave a problem signing or they have depth behind them

Many Hawk fans expect us to move this pick to TB for Isaac Howard if he is willing to sign

We shall see but Hawks are flush with picks to use as trade chips

As well as being able to offer a young dman in potential trade (Nolan Allan or Wyatt Kaiser for example)

Chicago's GM loves to donate hard earned picks to move up 1 1/2 spots. I think it's very unlikely they stay at #25.

I get the impression the 1st round picks aren't as valuable as normal in this years draft, feels like the cat is well out of the bag on this being a weaker draft on the depth side in particular.

Probably still get a decent player especially from say someone like Nashville or Pittsburgh who's reportedly in that sell mode.

Does Arviddson come with a pick in order to dump his contract?
4M is nothing and only 1 yr left.
He obviously isnt fetching Oilers a late 1st but should have positive value.

Ideally Oilers swap him to CHI for a reclamation project L.Reichel.. Maybe Draisaitl could knock some sense into him.

I think CHI has so many players signed + players on the reserve list they would want to sign that making 4 selections in the top 2 rounds doesn't make a lot of sense. It'd make plenty of sense to trade two out of 3 of the 25th, 34th and 60th for useful roster players under control, to move up, or to add a 2026 1st. Yeah, I know captain obvious.
