I agree that he needs to make a move, but I also think that it's going to be exceedingly difficult to do so.
You want to improve the team, but you also don't want to do anything rash that is going to come back to haunt you later.
Unfortunately, there are still a bunch of teams in the race for a playoff spot that nobody thought would even be close (see the Blue Jackets).
Let's face it, there are going to be very few players available, everyone is going to be vying for those same handful of guys, and the prices are going to be through the roof.
There are a lot of teams out there who probably feel like there is no reason to deal now. They can wait for the deadline when everyone is more desperate and drive up the price by having teams bid against one another.
As this season moves along, my expectations for what Chia is going to be able to get done at the deadline are becoming lower and lower. I think he will add some depth, but I think we are going to have to hinge our hopes on the Yeti, guys coming back from injury, perhaps some young players like Spooner, and this team finding another level heading into the post-season.
