What a tease of what Hockey could be played like.. Every minor league coach everywhere should show the kids these guys playing.

the thing is, there was TOO MUCH talent & speed on this team... only a few NHL teams have that luxury. to get to this level the NHL would have to put mandatory powerskating class during the summer period... not quite sure that the NHLPA would approve of that

It's been boring watching Team Canada for quite some time..

It's true there's no disputing it.

It's the Elephant in the room.

There's a fundamental flaw in the game where by the better you play the game. The less exciting it is to watch unfortunately.

Watching team NA play was addictive.. and on some notes depressing knowing it may never be seen again.

Russia beat TNA though. And Russia plays totally different game.

Russias a group of men some of whom are top10 players in the NHL, I sure hope they'd beat a bunch of kids despite getting dominated for large parts of the game.

And nah Russia's worse defensively and offensively than NA they just have much better goaltending.

Russia is ****, not going to argue about this, but still is better than TNA...

Still get to watch most of them in future all star games together. But I agree, funnest team to watch.

I've been lol'ing hard at all these types of comments lately.

They are most of the best high skilled players at the age in the world, at an age when they will be their fastest. No NHL team will be able to play that style of hockey.

Like what even is this logic.

I wish the Penguins were as good as Team Canada too. I also wish I had a billion dollars.

The logic is that a similar style of play once existed in the initial post lockout era. When more exciting, fast transitioning, freer offensive hockey was taking place. I'm not arguing that the NHL try to find a way to shove a ton of star players on a single team. Or that the NHL needs to force young star players on all the same teams. I'm saying the NHL needs to try and find a way to make the game more exciting, similar in style to how team NA played. You don't need to have the same roster as team NA. You don't need to have first liners playing on fourth lines. You don't need oodles of young talent on the same roster to make this happen.

You know what I lol at? Smug individuals that shell out attitude when they're missing the point.

Obviously you can't make every single NHL team play in a similar fashion, but you can make changes which allow for more exciting hockey across the league.

Russia won the game congrats. No excuses.

Murray let 4 goals in on 4 shots, playing with an injured hand. That's how Russia won. It's fair its legit but it shouldn't reflect on the quality of the team's play.

Well, even if they make the All-Star.. don't forget the all star game is 3 vs 3 :) with no stakes at hand, no penalties.

What are you even getting at? Cool better than a team of kids, they'll still never win anything based on how they play, hence the original quote.
