3 pts in 4 NHL games (small sample size but decent) and can put up great numbers in AHL. Has some potential... rumors Habs could be shopping him in a package for an upgrade. Value?

He's a decent prospect but most teams have 2 or three of them in their system so I can't see him adding much value to a package. Might make a decent add if a team needs depth, but he certainly won't be the main piece for a trade, I wouldn't think.

Why would we trade him? I don't see the point, he's a good player we should try him in our top 6.

He's actually AHL 2nd OV goal scorer leader and AHL point leader for players born in 94 and more.... His value should be at his best

People pretending having 2-3 players like him probably dont have a clue about that.

Or you have no idea about other team's prospects and are blind sighted by an average joe.

I'd consider Leipsic to be similiar to Hudon. A past comparasion would have Connor Brown, but he clearly took a huge step and left Hudon in the water.

Kapanan is also much better than him. That's 3 players right there?

I love how you mention " in the 94' class". Most of the good players from the 94' class have already graduated into the NHL. AKA Connor Brown

The leafs pool is probably the deepest in the league.

Not too awful much yet...probably a 4th or 5th round pick.

Let's see what the kid has over an extended period of time in the NHL first before we sell him off for a middling pick....he looked quite serviceable last night he is very smart with the puck.

Himself he wouldnt have much value. Mid round pick at best. Not much NHL Upside.

Ehh I agree he doesn't hold much value yet but he has middle-six upside. He has produce a lot at every level and is known to be a smart player.

Right now he hold more value to Montreal than any other team.

I dont take care about all the juvenile trashtalking. We're talking about facts and achievements and Hudon has made some at AHL level like Leipsic also does (good for you and I wish Leafs fan the best)

It doesnt mean Hudon will translate well in NHL and testing his value right seems the perfect moment specificly for that but we can certainly be positivefor the moment.

I'd be ecstatic if every 4th or 5th round pick turned out like him.

But what he means, is that Hudon is not doing anything out of the ordinary that other prospects don't do.

For Philly, look at Laughton. Drafted same year, has been a 3rd line player, got hurt and I'd now back in the AHL. He is producing over a PPG....better than Hudon, but is not a top 6 player in the NHL. He is a 3rd liner at best. Hudon is likely no different.

He just has little value on his own...would be a throw in in a larger deal with a better "key" piece in a trade.

Not much. I'd say a 5th rounder maybe.

Every team has a few guys like him, tweeners that have a reason or two why they are in the AHL rather than the NHL.

Hudon will either be packaged with other talent at the TDL or be used in case of injuries.

Either way, he's useful right now. No need to trade him away - especially not for a mid round pick
