changing a wood stick blade

my blade has had it on one of my sticks and i was wondering if anybody could help me on how to change the blade if you can and is it even worth it

If you're talking about a stick that's all wood, I've never heard of anyone changing the blade. It's probably possible, but not practical at all.

If you're talking a two-piece stick with a wooden blade, then it's a piece of cake and probably well worth it. Get a heat gun or hair dryer, heat the area where the blade is inserted into the stick, and pull out the blade once the glue inside has melted. Warm up the glue on the new blade with your heat source, insert into stick, and you're good.

check out some youtube videos, but just be sure that your shaft accepts standard tapered blades, which wood blades mostly are

wood stick with abs blade. I've got to the point were you really can't play with it from outdoor use a couple times a week the heel from top to bottom of the bad is about 3 inches. can't play with it anymore. I was wondering though could i put a wood blade on it. It's the CCM vector 01.

Nope, can't do that with wood sticks. I'd recommend picking up a cheap shaft off Craigslista and a cheap ABS blade, should work just as well.

I'm thinking of buying a easton shaft and putting a wood blade on it. any advice or comments on how well that works

Works just fine, just make sure you match up standard/tapered shaft and blade, and match up junior/senior (not sure which you are, this being the internet and all). Then you're good to go!

This is what I use. I bought an Easton shaft from the rink and I found a guy on Craigslist who sold me 10 brand new Easton blades for $10, so I'm set for life. I don't have a hard shot, so I haven't broken one yet (I play RW) and it's been chopped at, stepped on, slammed into the boards... etc... seems to be sturdy enough for beer league.

I had the guys at the rink change it for me once. They charge $5 and I know it's done right.

I play outdoor right now we have a outdoor rink at the rec center 10 minutes away, it's concrete I will be startin Ice in December, just taking time to get my stuff down before i join a league. If I like the wqay it feels though and don't want to ruin it i will just us it will practicing my shot ont eh my shooting pad so i don't wear i out.

You'll want to make sure the lie of your stick at least matches from what you've used before to what you are switching to.

Nothing drove me more insane when I switched sticks to a different lie without knowing it and the puck slid away on me when I know it shouldn't have. My dad bought me a 5.5 lie one piece one year that looked like it matched my other stick when I had used a 5 lie before (and still do). Supposedly tinkering with the length could've fixed it but I didn't invest the time in figuring it out.

Modsquadhockey.com has a blade pattern database that lists the lies and curves of most stick manufacturers.
