Many people bash the league for not promoting the sport well but this has been a great tool for doing that.

Seeing channels like Charlie Kirk, Benny Johnson, Cartier family along with several more doing videos is putting millions of eyes on the game that normally couldn't be bothered.
Many of them that are basketball ball fans had that aha moment when they realized just how awesome hockey is.
That type of exposure is worth the two week break.

Charlie Kirk and Benny Johnson lmao.

Nah, no thanks.

We don’t show it the same way you do in America that is not the same as not having it.

Canadians don’t rub it in too much/less in your face approach to their love and loyalty towards their native land. Some other cultures do, not only the USA, and that’s ok too. Being patriotic means being blindly biased towards your nation. For better or for worse.

Canada has a more quieter demeanour towards patriotism, much like most things Canadian. Proud but not always loud.

Time to dump some poutine in Boston Harbor tonight

With USA's injuries, the goaltending may need to be the difference maker.

It would also be nice if Matthews and Hughes decide to actually show up offensively.

I think this has the potential to have the highest views of a hockey game ever.

I am in several gaming discords and take shit from Americans for being a hockey fan (it's not a real sport kind of thing). They are talking about the game and their plans to watch it. I have relatives who might watch a hockey game once every 3 or 4 years if they were at an event it was on making plans for watch parties.

And to top it off, you have disgruntled NBA fans with their league and the quality of the game giving the sport a real chance. You actually have a chance to convert some fans into at least casual viewers who never thought about watching the sport.

Good job NHL

Not just the league, the players deserve a lot credit for laying it all out there when they all could have just mailed it in like the players in the NBA do
