Didn't really care about this tournament but I am loving seeing all the passion and patriotism from my American brothers and sisters. Can't say I'm surprised that Canadians don't seem to be matching our energy here, that place has a serious lack of a national identity
Perhaps you can’t reading well enough?:sarcasm:

If “lil broing” our and other countries over and over is an example of how you show pride in your great nation then fine. But this is hockey and your team is gonna get f***ed tonight

Just remember the War of 1812 and that the Star Spangled Banner is a song about winning a battle in a lost war. And that it's tune is set to England's Anacreontic Society Song - which Police Constables used to find out which sailors had been drinking too much by making them recite it in perfect pitch.

I know plenty, and it's to each their own I guess. Most of the people I know who aren't a fan of this tournament going on are pretty die hard fans of their respective NHL teams. In contrast, this tournament, which international hockey tends to do in general in my experience, is bring in people who don't watch hockey all that often. Even my dad is going to watch tonight's game, and he makes fun of me for liking hockey.
Many people bash the league for not promoting the sport well but this has been a great tool for doing that.

Seeing channels like Charlie Kirk, Benny Johnson, Cartier family along with several more doing videos is putting millions of eyes on the game that normally couldn't be bothered.
Many of them that are basketball ball fans had that aha moment when they realized just how awesome hockey is.
That type of exposure is worth the two week break.

Well there's a good reason for that, but I can't flat out say it for fear of being infracted.
Don’t sweat it. As long as your a mod and very clearly state “it’s just an observation that your people have no patriotism and national identity,” then you can get away with whatever post you like.

Doubling down on the argument by stating it’s because our people are all tuning into this game for the first time in the name of national pride while your people have supported the game and tuned into international hockey forever is an even stronger statement to justify said patriotism.
