another RHD?

whos he replacing on the PP, Weeger or Andersson?
Weegar plays LD and Barrie has also been playing some LD in camp.

Barrie will likely either be the 2/3LD or the 4RD. Depends on how they feel about Bahl and Bean, the former has been injured most of camp and just got in his first game, and is still young and it might be best to let him play on teh 3rd pairing and slide up to the 2nd on nights he's playing well.

And between the 2 PP units, we usually use 3 defensemen. With no Tanev or Hanifin, weegar and Andersson are going to need to up their PK minutes, so they may play PP2 together.

One year is OK. Our second line RD and later needs a little more seasoning in general.

I don't think seasoning is the problem. Just one D under 25. Need to find some guys that are actually good.

Age =/= Experience. Miromanov and Pachal might be 25+ but they have very limited NHL experience (about 110GP combined) and are still developing. Hell, Bahl has more experience than the 2 of them put together. Even old man Hanley has fewer than 200 games in the NHL

More than that. Pachal and Miromanov need more reps (low NHL GP) and kids like Brewski, Parekh etc. needs more seasoning before graduation.

A second pairing RD isn't falling into our lap before season starts, there's worse than Barrie as a stop gap on third pairing.

Yeah, they don't have much experience because they are scrubs.

More experience won't fix lack of talent.

What do you expect the flames to do right now? Call up the sharks and ask if they've changed their mind on Ceci?

lack of opportunity doesn't mean lack of talent, defensemen often improve in their mid-late 20s... but that doesn't matter, trolls gonna trolls, right?
Some players improve in their late 20s. Most of the guys that are borderline players at 25 fail to ever become NHL regulars. Odds are there won't be a single guy from the Flames D-core still on the team when they make the playoffs again.

This signing is better than nothing for the Flames, but why pretend like he is sheltering prospects? The Flames don't have any D prospects on their roster.

Pachal and Miromanov have both shown promise since being acquired. Bahl has shown some promise in NJ... even if the odds are slim, why piss that away by throwing them into the fire when they clearly aren't ready to handle it? It's basic common sense. But asking you to use that in Flames related thread is too much of an ask

This guys neutral zone underlying numbers are dead last.
Frigan Milan Lucic could probably beat this guy off the rush.

They’ve been terrible for awhile, while still dropping. This is a whole new level

But he knows how to run a PP efficiently which is still a commodity
