Celtics/NBA Celtics lose series to Knicks 4-2

Crazy how life works

Games 1 and 2 you are up by 20 in second half you move ball around down low you make the defense work you take the ball to the rim, you eat clock, zap opponents energy and limit their ability to fast break and get back in it fast with quick transition threes

Such bad strategy to fire up sloppy threes

Eventually leads to Tatum where he was

They should have won in 5 max if not for horrible coaching

Ok 25-26

Hauser $10 M off will help

Holliday has 3 years @ about 34 M left

Porzingus has an expiring contract at $30.6 M

Need to seriously get under the tax

I’d try to go here

Scheierman can take over Hauser role ~ I like him

If you can move J’Rue I start Pritchard

Horford a UFA and could retire but still has value
Kornet UFA

going to be a mess ~ they need to move Hauser & Holiday but that’s also subtracting Horford, Kornet, and Tatum

Basketball is my 4th sport so I could be wrong but I see a team based around Brown & White and a shortage of bigs and depth

Porzingus they need to keep but he’s got a valuable expiring contract

Chaos

Let’s see how Brad does

Celtics tickets on the secondary market going to be fun to check out next December ~ a lot of fat and happy sellers may be feeling the hit after 3-4, of rolling in the deep

Joe Mazzulla won't survive this. - not with a new owner coming in.

When the 3-pointers aren't hitting, you need a Plan B on offense, and the Celtics don't have one.
Yup they absolutely pissed away the series, next season, and maybe beyond

I haven’t seen anything turn so fast since Dr Steven Strange life when his Lamborghini went off the Cliff

A rebuild is difficult, very true, and the Spurs can swap for our pick in 29....However, I trust Stevens and have never particularly cared for Brown. Those things and White should add up to someone or something. i LOVE Whie but a rebuild is a rebuild.

There’s no way you fire Mazzulla. I don’t think it would go well with Tatum.
I know some of the guys are going to be gone, but Jalen should NOT be one of them. Great players in their prime need to stay. I keep Tatum, Brown, Pritchard and White. I also keep Kornet. Horford I keep until he decides to retire.
Some tough calls need to be made, but this has been a very likable team from top to bottom. Disappointing that they haven’t won at least two with this group.
I’ve seen more than enough of Mishaps Porzingis. He’s had one mysterious injury or illness after another. We need to move on and get a big who actually likes to play basketball.

I can’t believe what a bad series Joe Mazzulla had. I don’t know if he comes back from this. You swap coaches with Knicks the Celtics are playing Sunday in ECF

The players played dumb but this guy didn’t put them in position or the right groups together

His game one and two final five minutes should be studied in basketball coaching classes ~ incredibly he didn’t learn from game 1 in game 2. He’s very stubborn. I like him but wow

If Brad can get under both taxes and win 45 or more games he is a miracle-worker

Im not a basketball fan in the least but that was an embarrassing of a loss a Boston team has suffered in decades. To NY of all cities.

Pathetic quitters

Silver lining department

25-26 should be a reset the cap for another run and get young / let Brown be the guy; expand Pritchard minutes & responsibilities & develop guys like Scheieman etc

2026 trio should be Tatum, White, and Brown

I’m expecting 25-26 around 45 wins (or less)

26-27 very strong championship caliber team as long as the big 3 are healthy

They'll need major changes, even a big 3 of tatum brown and white is extremely flawed come playoff time
They will have 16 months, hopefully cap space, they have their firsts - 2026 draft is considered one of the strongest in years

Prichard could be starting and getting 35 minutes

Scheierman has a great shot and active as heck - he should be in the 8/9 rotation

Brad Stevens will add but they have to take steps in the process that should be a 16 month time frame

Hope they can add a player who is fearless and a floor general. Brown and Tatum jsut too timid in crunch time

White isn't going anywhere.
Yeh no bleeping way his contract is outstanding he’s a bit of a Swiss Army knife ~ fantastic player

Hauser is a given and they got a better replacement hopefully

It’s Holliday $34 M @ 3 years ….they will have to take a player or players back

He could help a bunch of teams but that’s a big contract

I am very interested in how Stevens does this but I think he’s the guy to do it

25-26 can be used to get a lot of the house in order

Glad they have their firsts even if late
