History Lesson or More Reasons to not respect the Hawks

I hate the Hawks for the same reason that I hate the Penguins. They have been rewarded richly for their futility and now the bandwagonners do not pass up an opportunity to let everyone know it.

suck, suck, suck, suck, draft Kane, suck, draft Toews, win, win, Cup, Cup.

Much like the Pens model of suck, suck, suck, draft Fleury, draft Malkin, draft Crosby, win, win, Cup, Cup... it just feels cheap to me like there should be an *asterisk beside it in the history books.

*these guys were so bad for so long that they were gifted with back to back Cup winning talent because they would never otherwise scout, trade, attract, or develop their way back into the playoffs in the modern era. But hey, it worked!

**the Edmonton Oilers would like to acknowledge the shame that they feel for not being able to replicate this success.

:sarcasm: tongue firmly in cheek of course :sarcasm:

Looks like Fisher is definitely out which isn't surprising. Glad that Cullen is going to get moved to 2C as Santorelli was a failure there in the last few regular season games. Question is whether it is Santorelli or Fiala. I prefer Fiala but wouldn't be surprised if is Santo who will be out to prove himself. Unfortunately it looks like Franson is back.

Franson and Santorelli will be out to prove themselves tonight. Forget the regular season the reason we brought them in is for the playoffs and if they make a difference and we win then the trade isn't going to look as bad.

I just hope Franson doesn't try to do "too much". That's usually when he gets into trouble. Santo on the other hand needs that effort level at 11 to be truly effective. If he's going, whoever he's on a line with will thank him later. I think the team will have some ruffled feathers with how the game was lost. Might be a bit more of a steady game rather than end to end.

well Lavy has been quoted as saying that the guys will be ready for the game tonight. He better have them playing a full 60.

They were ready for the 1st period Wednesday. They came out of the gate with lots of jump. I think the adrenaline wore off by the time the 2nd period began.

So awesome that our #1 center is healthy for tonight, oh wait, he can't stay healthy in his advanced age ? ... and where has Ribeiro been the last good while... DO NOT PAY THOSE MEN THEIR MONEY

If the guys play like they did in Game 1, they will win on most nights.

I had this thought in the shower this morning: Would you rather be the team that dominated the majority of the game (other than while being shorthanded for half of the 2nd period) and lost, or the team whose #1 goalie was chased out of the game in the 1st Period, but somehow managed to scrap together a win with the help of the officials?

Sure- I'd take the win too, but my point is that there is reason for doubt in the Hawks minds.

Sure there is reason, but the bandwagon isnt running on reason, it is running on confidence and a superiority complex.

and why not? The Preds need to step up and give them a reality check to pump the breaks. Will that happen though? We shall see in a few hours

I think we come out hard tonight and win 4-2. I see us splitting these two, splitting in CHI, and it coming down to a three game series.

Go Preds. We need the Franson and Santo we gave up a 1st and Leipsic for. We need early season Forsberg. We need the Neal we traded Hornqvist for. Lots of options as far as guys who can step up.
