Good for Johnny, he's always had an exceptional hockey mind. I also think he'll be a great choice insofar as development of your young players. I've watched very few players with as impressive of a cerebral grasp of solid two way play than he did in his career.

He's one of three former Devs I would be in favor of seeing coach my newly adopted hometown team next year (Vegas) along with Kirk Muller and Scott Stevens.

I loved John Madden as a player. I'm cautiously optimistic (although I'm concerned about a dropoff in coaching from Bednar/Pratt to Madden/McCarthy, specifically the latter pair).

They'll grow with the young team. I don't expect a Calder Cup repeat.
