7-3-0 with .926 sv% and 1.92 GAA since December 22nd. Those are definitely starting goalie numbers and would like to see Maurice and Zito extend his leash for rest of regular season. Let the young stud eat

he's getting his starts and doing well. doesn't seem the coaching staff feels the need to rush things and i agree. i would favor slowly transitioning the starter's workload to knight over the next 1-2 years.

As much as I want to see if he can handle a #1's workload in regularseason, he needs playoff experience as well to fully evaluate if/when he's ready to be a true #1.
Basically just entering his prime this year IMO.

i can't imagine maurice is going to hand him the playoff starter job and i don't see us platooning in the playoffs, not with someone like bob as your starter. maybe he gets a game if bob looks tired or off but remember, knight had some psychological difficulty handling the yo-yoing from Q and org in the past. he's still a kid. slow and steady, imo. he's already had a standout playoff appearance against TBL, anyway.

when it's time for him to take up the mantle, we'll have to trust that, provided he's right technically and psychologically, he can work through any issues playoff pressure or what have you with the team and coach behind him.

Ya I think this year is the regular season for Knight to lessen load for Bob so he isn't burnt out for playoffs and next year is the year they need to see if Knight can handle 50ish regular season games and be the starter in playoffs?
We'll see.
