Now for something serious (instead of me in my Paul Fenton persona). My mother and I both went to see Ariana Grande last night (Note: that girl can sing well; it's a worthwhile ticket), and due to our family's long-time season ticket history, we got invited to the Captain's Club (AKA. the Canes' locker room) before the show. The know-nothing event staff knew jack shit about this but pretended to, and said that only folks sitting in a specific section could access that part of the arena. One of the guys even said that the locker room was closed, which was utter nonsense. After several minutes of bickering, I just so happened to see Borg-Supreme Don Waddell just whistling past our stairway. Using my superpowers, I asked him if he was the Canes GM, and he said yes and we talked a bunch about the season and our great off-season acquisitions. After that, we asked him about our e-mail that we received about the Captain's Club, and within 30 seconds he directed us down there personally and we got our passes. IOW: shitty event staff was saved by our world-class NHL organization. Thank you, Don and the Canes!
