Trading a guy that actually put in work to be a well rounded player and has high expectations for himself is the exact opposite of what this team needs.

God forbid the current young guys and prospects could look up to a skill guy that actually went through it

As someone out here on the West Coast, I have seen a lot of Colorado games, I truly believe that he’s right below Dahlin, ahead of power.

He’s a special player, you guys are gonna notice that right away
Exactly this

" On the surface I love this deal. He's a left hand shot, yes, but Mittelstadt for a top four defenseman was the trade we've talked about for a year, and they did it.

I think Byram is a good #3, but plan to do some more digging on if I'm right on that.
Immediately their 2nd best defenseman, when Power takes a jump, Byram will be a perfect #3

And between Krebs, Savoie, Kulich, Ostlund there is no way one of the four doesn't get as good as mittelstadt
Also I'm not worried about the lefty thing because I've said forever I think Dahlin is at his best on the right and I wish they never put him back on the left.

Last year was his best season and he played the most right of his career. He played primarily right before the NHL when he became a generational prospect.

Plus, you can either trade Samuelsson or put him in a better spot on the 3rd pair
Byram concussion history is the biggest risk here. Definitely worrisome but high upside idea if that gets under control. "

It makes sense for these f***ing idiots to trade for a top 5 pick that has busted given they don't have amy pro scouts. I'll bet their amateur guys loved him 4 years ago.

add poyer, this is gonna be an ott and miller day

Joker has to be moving out. Right now he's probably at his peak value too and being a RHD it's even better.
Joker is playing great hockey. If he will sign for a reasonable amount, I don't see why you move him.

Someone is always injured on the blueline, and having one of Clifton, R. Johnson or Jokiharju rotating in and out as needed gives the team depth.

Personally, I'd much rather have Joker back than re-signing Bryson and having him play 45 games as the 7th D.

Except for Dahlin was on horrible teams and Byram came in on an elite team playing behind Makar
How is Byram going to take going from a winning culture to a losing culture.

Feel this is being overlooked by sabres fans.

We arguably had the best 1-2-3 in the league.
We had an okay 1-2-3 largely because Mitts was our only center that played anything like a 200' game. You don't have the best 1-2-3 when two of the centers haven't shown they can be responsible defensively. Big hole that needs to be filled with no likely candidates until Ostlund matures.
