I mean sure if we're still sucking total ass by the time we get to the deadline. Could do a lot worse then Boucher for Stempniak in a trade.

Not sure how the Devils feel about picking up that extra year of Stempniak though.

Seems like this year they are testing out DSP, Bennett, and Lappin. Parenteau is likely just a one year stop gap.

A right side of Palmieri - Bennett - Stempniak - Lappin/DSP for next year is pretty solid though.

unfortunately just don't see a turnaround for Carolina. Good young D. But goalies aren't good and not enough scoring to overcome that

As right now I would say Palmieri, Bennett, Lappin are the only locks to be back next season.
DSP probably won't be back and you never know with Parenteau. I'd love the RW group of Palmieri, Stempniak, Parenteau, Bennett, Lappin for next season.

As much as I love Stemper, I think we'd be trying to get someone younger in a Boosh trade. Sort of like Matteau for DSP. A comparable young player with more speed.

It's an interesting idea, but I wonder where it leaves us for the expansion draft as well. It's an interesting idea, but I don't know if Shero would be willing to trade for Stempniak.

Hall - Zajac - Parenteau
Cammalleri - Henrique - Stempniak
Bennett - Zacha - Palmieri
Kalinin - Fiddler - Lappin/DSP

Looking at the line-up, I do like the way it would look though.

Rather not wait til deadline. Devils need Stempniak now and we will throw in Jacob Josefson as part of the deal.

if we are still in 30th place in a few months then sure

but it is still too early to make this trade

I'd tend to agree with this.

It's totally understandable on Carolina's end, to not wanna make this trade.

I'd love it from the Devils end, as Stempniak fit in very well here and Boucher seems to have fallen out of favor for whatever reason.

I think he's an NHL player though. Had a good preseason and end to last season, not sure why we're not playing him more. Especially last night with Cammalleri injured.

I'm still a big believer that Stempniak would be a Devil today if Carolina hadn't offered the extra year. Same with Schlemko. The moment the Devils were outbid on term was the moment Shero moved on from the player. Stopgaps are stopgaps. And this year it's Parenteau and Quincey.

I love Stempniak, and loved what he did for us last year, but I don't think Shero would be interested in re-acquiring him, given that second year.

I don't understand the logic in this trade proposal. We are not trading away a young prospect that has possible potential for Stempniak unless we're going to be sure we're making it far in the playoffs and need him.

Have a little patience with Boucher, he is barely in the lineup and when he is in the lineup he tries hard and looks like he's on the verge of a breakthrough. Last night he had some really good chances.

As for Josefson. you're crazy if you think he doesn't have value. He is good on the faceoffs and very good on the penalty kill and good in the power play. He might not show up on the scoresheet every night but he contributes a lot to this team winning. He won the faceoff that led to that goal by Kyle Quincey last night.
