The Canes were a runner up for Eichel, Tkachuk, Meier and Karlsson. They took a run at Pettersson. Do the stars finally align on a big move?
To put into perspective the offensive boost that Miller offers, this is the first season in five years where any Carolina Hurricane player is on pace to outscore JT Miller in a season.Morrow, Artamanov, + 1st and you guys can have the JT Miller chant.
This is probably the year to do it. There’s not really a clear best team in the east. It can certainly be them. They’re good offensively, defensively and analytics. They’ve been pretty patient up until now. The prospect pool is still pretty good to use as potential trade bait. I think the time is ripe.
Yes, no, maybe, I don't know. CAN YOU REPEAT THE QUESTION?no but also maybe yes
I think he didn't want to pay that price for a winger but for a centre while most likely getting rid of Jesperi contract will incentivize them to take a risk regardless of risk especially considering the canes probably want to push for a cup this season.Miller has five more seasons remaining on his deal at $37.5M. Dundon seems to watch the bottomline more than other owners. He squeezed Brind'Amour and his assistant coaches. Carolina wouldn't pay the price to keep Jake Guentzel. The long term big money for aging players seems to scare them off for good reason.
They grabbed Guentzel last year, but didn’t do what they needed to keep him. Obviously.Same procedure as every year. And when the chips fall, the Canes were to cheap and lost out… will it be different this year? I doubt it
They weren’t winning the East last year. They did it last year too with Guentzel, they probably had to realize they got Igor'd last year or they probably win the East last year or have a very good series with Florida at the least in the ECF. Maybe Dundon's thinking has changed with high cost rentals
Salary cap is a thingMorrow, Artamanov, + 1st and you guys can have the JT Miller chant.

Little pricey there bud. That’s two of our best three prospects and a first, which is a price nobody really pays for anybody. Realistic would be maybe one of those things with lesser things attached.Morrow, Artamanov, + 1st and you guys can have the JT Miller chant.
...didn't they try and go big last year with Guentzel??...why is it a "surprise" this year??...
