I see 3 options with price:

1) he's injured and stays on LTIR with weber

2) he comes back and plays out his contract with us

3) he comes back and plays well enough that we can retain on him and get a decent return

We don't have any other goalies beating down the door right now, so there's zero reason to do a bad contract swap when we would still just need to find a way to replace carey anyway.

I get how folks view Price's contract, but he can contribute a lot more to a team than Vlasic
