The dads are still on the trip. I fully expect an Ovechtrick to be scored by each of Ovechkin, Williams, Backstrom, Beagle, and Holtby. Joel Ward, Mike Green (with his orange Vespa!) and Alex Semin return to the Caps to guest star tonight for them and manage to score just regular old hat tricks. Midway through the game, Semin will change teams and become a Cane again and will float the rest of the game. Additionally, Williams carves out both of Skinner's eyes and Orpik boards Staal, breaking his neck in the process.

Final score, Capitals 60, Hurricanes 1.

Seriously, I'm starting to think the Dads trip is bad juju.

Well. At least she was lifting the concrete mixer correctly with her legs, so she got that going for her, which is nice.

Yesterday I put in a programmable thermostat upstairs. Trying to turn off the furnace, I flipped the wrong switch in the control box (the labels are less than clear), went to work on live wires, and almost fried the circuit board inside the furnace. Thankfully, it ended up being just a blown fuse, but I couldn't figure out why there would be electrical problems until I realized the switch I had flipped actually controlled something else. It took me three hours to figure out what was wrong and fix it.

That was probably more fun than this game will be.
