Confirmed with Link: Captain Logan Couture announced the end of playing career.

116 Playoff games played with 101 points, Couture was such a gamer and you could always count on him to play his best hockey when April rolled around. You could just tell he had that "dog" in him and always loved the celebrations/emotions he would let out each time he scored in the playoffs. One of my favorite Sharks and I am at least happy he got to stay in teal for his whole career.

Playoff warrior. Would have been a great supporting player these past few years...Sharks really were struck with the worst of luck.

Shame for cooch, He's a great guy and definitely one of the all time great sharks!

that said, this announcement is a year late, and the team has been bascially captainless for two years. Thats not a good thing. You need a captain on the ice and in the locker room. I expect Toffoli will get it as the only veteran in the lineup signed for more than one year, the leading goal scorer, and a highly respected and experienced guy who is great with the kiddie poos. No brainer really.

He's been a part of some pretty special teams, but let's be honest, he wouldn't say it but I bet him scoring that OT goal was a happier moment than either of his cup wins.

Oh I don’t know. I’m sure it’s a highlight but I watched one of the finals games ( maybe the last one?) where Goodrow was out there single-handedly killing penalties to help win the game. He’s had some very big moments for other teams too.

While not surprised, I wish he had been able to recover. Lots of great memories watching him, including the day he was drafted. My friend who is a ducks fan, was pissed he would have to play against him for 15 years.

Wish him nothing but the best for his future.

Nothing but the best for #39 Logan Couture.
He was truly a definition of clutch player in important moments.
I'm gonna miss him, because he reminds me a lot of the golden years of Sharks hockey.
There were really times when Sharks fans could just put the clock straight to April and there would be playoff hockey, those times seem like a forever ago.

ftfy :sarcasm:

His first full season with the Sharks was my first as a Sharks fan, or thereabouts. I was still contemplating buying his jersey last summer but went with a vintage Makarov. Here's to a good and healthy life for him.
