Caps announcers saying nice things about Tolchinsky- specifically that he has a great first step that allows him to easily separate from defenders, and that he's been our best prospect in camp so far. Of course, I highly doubt that the Caps announcers have been watching the Canes camp that closely...

Gauthier has a long reach, and got a shot off in the slot reaching quite a bit away from his body. Seriously, the puck must have been a good 5-6 feet away from his skates.

Gauthier looking a little lost on his wall in the defensive end. Tolchinsky the only guy with some real offensive jump so far. I started 8 minutes in though. Pretty mediocre hockey both ways so far. Hot preseason action.

Yep. Canes haven't really had a guy that can play the half wall well in a while and Tolchinsky has looked good there tonight.

McKeown also looks very calm and poised out there.

Roy looks very slow to me, "like one of the slowest on the ice" slow. Might just be what I see on TV though as we don't see the whole play so if anyone is at the game, would be curious to get their view.

Yep, he had a few. On one, he came across and made a great save. Granted, he wasn't facing Backstrom, Ovi, Oshie, etc...
