Ryan Leonard numbers wise looks good which should help him avoid the popcorn duty when Protas returns.
These are all 5-on-5 numbers:
Fenwick For/Against: 60.78% (1st in team)
Shots For/Against: 63.64% (1st in team)
Goals For/Against: 100% (2-0, tied 1st in team)
Scoring Chances For/Against: 71.88% (1st in team)
High-Danger Chances For/Against: 76.92% (4th in team, woof)
xGF: 73.28% (1st in team)
Limited minutes sure but all in all Caps are pretty analytics-driven team these days and none of the numbers regarding Ryan Leonard scream a healthy-scratch to me. At home atleast to me it should clearly be Taylor Raddysh which isn't really to fault him as he's been fine too but Leonard, Mangiapane, Beauvillier and those guys have outplayed him so far. When it gets tricky is if they don't close it out at home. I can see Carbery in away games moving forward wanting to put Protas in with Strome and Ovechkin because that's the line Habs were targeting and Carbery has played them on really offensive minutes so far, which is smart and has been effective. But the balance clearly shifts when they finally can put the big guy into the line-up for away games. He should help them get out of the PK slide that's been going on, too.
