So, basically, it's:

The brightside about the Kuzy thing, you should know pretty quickly whether it had any affect. It's night and day if he's engaged or not.

I might be naive, but one thing that makes me think that it was not just standard bs player talk is the fact that he said 'I love Carbs so much'

It’s one thing to say what you are supposed to say, but a guy who’s pissed off at his coach never goes as far as making such a declaration of love

We’ll see if love translates on the ice. And if yes, for how long

He was talking about carbohydrates.

We have a good record, and Ovechkin is almost unplayable.

Maybe he turns it around? Fun to think about. Next two games are the biggest of the year thus far.

[Bear] is getting very close and the fact that he’s only going to cost you the cap space it takes to bring him has helped drive some of the interest on the 26-year-old defenseman. [It’s] to the point that he’s going to allow teams on Monday of next week to come to Kelowna if anyone wants to get a look at him on the ice and see him go through his paces after having offseason shoulder surgery. Remember, he was injured playing for Team Canada at the World Championship last year and he’s had a long recovery from that shoulder surgery. The Vancouver Canucks have interest in bringing him back and I think the Leafs have shown interest. The team to watch could be the Washington Capitals, they seem to be keenly interested. New Jersey and Pittsburgh as well but there’s certainly no shortage of interest in Bear who can be signed just for the money it costs to pay him.

Young, right shot D. All our right shot are older guys, Jensen hasn't been great either. Probably helps bridge the gap between when Iorio and Chesley potentially graduate and TVR/Jensen/Carlson are all gone.

I like it, would rather have him playing or sitting on the bench over Lujo tbh. I always thought he was good during his EDM and Carolina stints.

He's got to play, though. Hard to see a spot for him unless they're maybe thinking of selling high on TVR or something. There does seem to be a strong market for RD between teams like Toronto, Edmonton and maybe even New Jersey now in need.

Overall outside of Carlson the Caps don't get enough offensive production from the blueline. I'd rather they upgrade more in that direction, in addition to getting younger. Bear is a fine 4-6D and free aside from cap space. It's good to add more options but definitely you'd think something would have to give if they were to sign him. He's not coming in to sit as the #7.

So Caps seem to be linked to Columbus, and now Bear. Any other credible rumors (rated by source) I'm missing?
Just trying to put pieces together, would make one think maybe a RD is involved in whatever we're doing with the Jackets but like...both Jensen and TVR just signed new contracts, and they're certainly not moving Carlson.

The Columbus link is just so weird.

Columbus is down both Severson and Boqvist. They could probably use an established RD.

Less likely but another thought: If they are targeting a younger high upside forward, maybe they consider moving Iorio. And with that, Hershey has plenty of RD, but Bear would give them righthanded NHL level depth.

But yeah, definitely weird.

Do they have the cap space? Carbery has ties with the leafs and could prob make a deal happen fast if they have interest.
