I had posted something at the Rs trade board re jt miller + for zib +++

now the Hronek injury creates a real urgency and a new dynamic

as we know, JT Miller is taking time off despite being productive and supposedly it is b'c he is at odds w/Elias Petterssen
Zib has lost it; not sure if it is concussions or what but he once had chemistry w/Kreider and it is now invisible
the thinking is if Swedes EP and Mika Z played together, it could work out and given this + VAN is a legit cup contender, MZ would waive

there is risk with either or 2 primary pieces, similarly priced 8.5 MZ and 8 per JTM.

there is more risk for VAN than NY so Rs have to compensate

RD Schneider is normally not available
howev, getting Miller for Zib, full pop both ways, and other benefits would be enuf to do this

Zib + Schneider + Jones (good skater upgrade on Erik B) + Vesey

Miller + Raty + Juulsen + a pick

We need top 4 RD and 2C or even just a top 6 F, I doubt Joker brings back anything like that. So I don't think Buffalo and Vancouver are not good trade partners at this point. If we got a top 4 RD somewhere else, then Joker would probably be available for pick.

The trouble is everyone and their grandma wants a top 4 right shot D. Hronek being injured longterm really puts Vancouver over a barrel, especially considering their D wasn't great to start with.

Adding the wrinkle of wanting someone young (24-28?), already a bonafide top 4 D, and controllable - as in having some term left... I mean, that's gonna cost. Hoglander is a fine player but if you want someone that's not a stopgap, I think you're going to need to put more than a guy Tocchet hates (that has five points) and picks on the table.

I would have Lekkerimaki on the table.

I thought there were more maneuverable pieces between the two teams. Also didn't realize how many players were on IR further limiting the movable pieces. My bad.

A back up to Lank would be smarter as well any D help I guess. But Silovs shouldn't be in the NHL. He should be in the AHL and they should be looking for a better depth goalie for whenever Demko attempts to play again.
