Please someone tell me its not 2.9mil

I wouldn't actually mind a Biega type deal for him, but something like what I posted about is LUNACY for what he did....

I can't help it, but I dislike this guy just because of the trade.

Well that and that he looked like another Linden Vey out there.

Moar future Darren Haydars!!

somewhat surprised on the two years but as long as it's under 1 mill a year and they are still willing to waive him if someone beats him out then whatever.

heck

900k cap hit. Not terrible. If he sucks we can put him on waivers and send him to the AHL without any cap penalty.

900k.

Replacement-level player, more-or-less replacement-level salary.

Meh. Could be worse. It'll be "fun" comparing him and Shinkaruk over the next few years.

1 mill to 1.5 mill I'll be happy

Even that's too much, he hasn't done anything to warrant any sort of raise on whatever his current QO would be. And for a guy like him that 2nd year is a benefit to the players as much as it is the team.

Contract should be <= 1.0M per, we'll see what he gets though.

Decent signing, there's no real risk.

Its kind of as good as we could hope for. Lets see if he can put it together now. Worse comes to worse he goes to the minors. Just sucks what we had to give to get him...

This is a contract that will let us stash him in the AHL at no cap cost, while the 2nd year will scare teams off when he hits waivers. Pretty shrewd - it means management is not married to the idea of him making the opening day roster.

Linden Vey is probably done with the org.

2 years is interesting. I guess Vey is gone, and they will be "developing" Granlund over the next two years. I wonder what happens if Gaunce proves to be the better C in camp?

Bad trade..."whatever" signing. As Shinkaruk gets better its going to be harder for Granlund to gain any traction in Vancouver and will likely remain a bottom 6 whipping boy.

Okay, not really a fan of the player though the sourness of the trade seeps (I try to be more objective) but at that caphit there isn't really anything to complain about. If his cost acquisition was better I've be fairly satisfied right now if he was penciled in as 13th forward. At the point you can look at him with the potential to move up the lineup or be send down without cap penalty.
