The Canucks traded the McKenna pick for Pettersson. They're not rebuilding

Hughes is awesome but Buffalo don't do that. It is a lot to give up and that package could be used for 2 players. They need a C and a RHD more than a LHD, even if it is QH.

There won't be any rebuild as long as Fredo is owner. A retool is the best we can hope for.

In a rebuild, you still need to have some core players to build around. Quinn Hughes is a that core player. You do not move him.

Trading Quinn Hughes is a nightmare situation, really.

Canucks fans freaking out after a Pettersson flop season has them in no mans land.

The Hughes proposal is pretty good; I think I'd have the Canucks send a C prospect out to even up the contract slots a bit.
I like the Pettersson proposal.
The Boeser proposal is terrible. There's no way he'd return that much in a trade.

Sabres pass, because the only position on the roster that is set is #1D. Not saying Hughes isn’t worth it. That’s just an incredible number of assets to spend without addressing any of their needs. Take the same package for the best available center.

Man there’s almost nothing (other than 98) I wouldn’t consider trading for Hughes.

I can’t see Vancouver moving him. You can do a quick retool and still keep your franchise D.

Yes, how does that help us? We need a top 6 C and some top 4 RDs that are good at defense and play a physical game.
If you're offered a Quinn Hughes, you absolutley take it and find your RHD and C somewhere else...

No wonder Buffalo sucks.. 😂

If your trading Hughes while he still has term might as well send him to jersey. Right now they probably feel confident he'd sign there in a couple years, but if van trades him to more of a contender he might decide to stay there and re-up.

Sure in a vacuum this is fine but overall Chytil as the canucks #1 center with no real option for a #2 guy is poor team building after this next trade.

Sure in a vacuum if we are burning it all down but team ownership wouldn't allow it.

Once again perhaps in a vacuum but the Canucks have exactly zero need for another goalie and unless they can package and flip some of these assets for a real #1 center the whole thing collapses like a house of cards.

If Huges is ever availible the package would be massive. Everything except matthews would be on the table from the Leafs.
