… are there any mid 20’s impact forwards available for what Vancouver has?

The only assets they have that can realistically pull that off are their 1st, Willander and Lekkerimaki. And if you truly want an "impact "guy, you'll probably have to combine 2 of those 3 to get it.
IMO they should re-sign Boeser and use a package like Garland, Willander/Lekkerimaki and a 1st to get the best forward they can get.

The way that is worded makes it sound like they would be willing to take on a highly salaried guy with lots of years left who may have soured in their current situation when it comes to production/availability versus contract length and hit.
So yeah, kind of like a Norris/Cozens area where they will attempt to lower the asset cost by saying "hey, we are willing to take on this big, gnarly long-term contract if you are willing to come to the table and discuss".
I'm not saying that other teams will just buy into this - but there are only so many mid-20's players making big bucks on huge deals that would even be remotely available that wouldn't be automatically completely cost-prohibitive to acquire.

If your only real asset is cap space, you're probably not getting a high impact forward. But they could get Casey Mittelstadt.
Knowing Ruthervin, we could see another trade like the Miller one where they get a 1st or assets for Boeser and flip them again. They've already done that 3 times.
This just screams Willander for Dvorak
I don't know that Willander is the player style Buffalo would be looking for, but I wonder if something around Willander for Cozens would be of interest for the Sabres. They definitely want a top-4 RHD and it seems that Willander will be that in the near future.

Habs are already on the west coast this weekend for a road trip. Maybe we just drop Dvorak off for a few hours for a play date with Petey to see if they will get along?

Considering Cozen’s contract he might not be what Allvin/Rutherford see as a guy they want. That’s a high cost for a (likely) 3C.
