heck
Everyone and their dog seems open to trading their 1st this year.

2024 1st for Silovs.

Make it happen Allvin!
Ullmark got a late 1st and a 4 year cap dump. Silovs probably gets a 3rd and maybe a late pick. While he played decently in the playoffs, his AHL and NHL numbers are nothing special.

He's more valuable to the Canucks currently than his trade value.

There's no way in heaven the Canucks would get a first round pick for Silovs......now Demko would be a different story. Could easily see Vancouver nabbing a top-10 pick from somebody, if they were prepared to deal him.

Allvin likes to roll the dice, but you'd have to have some serious stones to pull this one off. Because there wouldn't be a 'Plan B' in goal.

What does Matt Roy want? he would be the ideal target on D imo.

he's a younger Tanev. Really good player. He's been on LA forever so many people on here should be familiar with him.

29 yrs old, Right shot D. 6'1, 207 lbs.
almost 200 blocks and 150 hits last year, AND 25 points w/ 22 at even strength.
His even strength (close) and even strength (tied) Corsi numbers are impressive for a defensive Dman in general and especially strong relative to his team-mates.
PDO is breakeven but expected goals for vs expected goals against when he's on the ice is very tilted in LA's favor.
This profile tells me that he's a defensive dman, doing the things you expect from a Dman but doing them very well AND while he spends time in his own zone he's not getting hemmed in his own zone taking shots off the shin pads rinse and repeat. The tide seems to turn the other way very quickly when he's on the ice and breakouts happen , often a result of something he does. He's pretty mobile, this helps his case too. he's approaching 30 so the fact he's a strong skater helps justify a 5 or 6 year contract.
I want him.

Guentzel:
-Hurricanes keep pushing hard and have made a higher offer; giving Guentzel a lot to think about
-list of interested teams keeps growing

Canucks:
-obviously want Guentzel
-we know Lindholm going to the open market
-Tanev could be an option
-have left the door open for Myers; had another conversation in the last 24 hours; haven't bridged the cap yet

Jets:
-taking calls on McGroarty
-no rush on McGroarty or Ehlers trade
-trying to extend Monahan

Maple Leafs:
-have had a dialogue with Domi; gap isn't too big
-Bertuzzi is willing to work with the Leafs on term and cap hit
-their money is going to the blue line
-interested in Tanev, Montour, Roy, Pesce, Carrier, and Walker

Flyers:
-made an aggressive pitch the Blue Jackets: swap of 1sts, roster player, plus another 1st to get the 4th overall from the Blue Jackets

Oilers:
-Jeff Jackson doesn't want to be the GM
-wants to have a GM by sometime in July

He'd be my plan B in ufa if they strike out on Guentzel and the trade market is too pricey

Really gives the team 2 solid pairings, either you pair him with Hughes or Soucy.

Only problem is that he's from Michigan so good luck getting him to sign here as an in-demand UFA with no real connections to the team.

We should trade Zadorov’s rights to toronto so that it decreases their capspace for the RD market and nets us a pick

And Lindholm to Boston.
Wonder if they’d have appetite for that given it seems like he’s going there and they don’t need to penny pinch their cap. Why pay for a privilege (8th year) that they don’t need to do

With Guentzel, it makes sense for us. 8.3 instead of 9.5 would be big
