I really hope for something exciting to happen this next week, gimme Laine, Necas, McGroarty, Marino, Konecny, I'll settle for Jeff skinner tbh.

Out of nowhere trade for a difference maker, unlikely I know, but dang it'd be fun.

what is the projected salary for stamkos as a ufa?

he's pretty intriguing to me assuming the term is relatively short.

Honestly 3Mx8 feels kinda fair for player & team in terms of total money and salary fit. Certain fit, still a good team, early retirement, and would never hear a bad word from anyone in Tampa.

But also seems pretty easy to beat 8Mx3 on the market, tax aside.

What’s very obvious this off-season is that even though the official ‘negotiating period’ mandated by the league was cancelled—that teams and agents are clearly turning a blind eye to tampering and allowing each other to give a wink-wink nudge-nudge about their intentions.

It feels like we could probably accurately guess where +30 of the top 50 UFAs are going to end up based off leaks and media reports this year.

The more I think about it the more John Marino makes sense for Vancouver. Still relatively young 27. Right handed shot who has very good two-way way ability but excels at the defensive side of the game. Would be a excellent partner for Hughes and can be used on special teams. Makes total sense.

Marino and Tanev would be amazing additions to the Canucks defense.

I guess Tanev and Guentzel together would take care of most of the cap space we have left. It leaves Myers and Juulsen as our bottom pairing, unless there is something else in the works.

I do wonder if Garland could be on the way out and Marino on the way in? That would set up the RD nicely, and give us a little bit of room to get another forward?
I wonder if he was a contingency plan for size/grit if we couldn't bring Myers back, as both would fill a similar role?

Methinks the Canucks are targeting Tanev on D.

I'm trying to sign Guentzel but Bettman keeps telling me to wait until Monday so I shouted at Tulsky to shut the f*** up and sit down then was escorted off the draft floor.
Tell Bettman that you want to invest in a team from a Southern market and would love to talk to him off the floor. Then just stuff him in a sack and look for the nearest compactor. Done.
