Yes, Brady. They were "cheering fors" their wildcard position and a playoff push over a gimmick tournament. Even then, it's been reported that Rutherford and Allvin both left the decision up to Hughes despite their preference he didn't go.

He's as stupid as he is ugly. Type of guy who thinks Joe Rogan is a legitimate source of information and believes the wildest conspiracy theories.

I promise you he's said meaner things. He's got great on ice IQ - maybe needs to use that a bit more when asked a softball question. It throws unnecessary shade towards the Canucks management team as well.

  • Luke warm discussions around the league right now
  • GMs, scouts, etc. still categorize the activity as quiet
Seattle Kraken
  • Several teams would like to acquire Yanni Gourde but there’s a 50/50 chance he’s traded; Kraken want to re-sign him; expected to return before the TDL
  • Expectation is Brandon Tanev will be traded by the deadline
  • Willing to listen on just about anybody
Dallas Stars
  • Has been told Miro Heiskanen is done for the season and could be out until the end of the 1st round or beginning of the 2nd; could move him to LTIR
  • Looking at other options to add
  • Doesn’t see a fit for Erik Karlsson in Dallas; was told it’s very likely not going to happen
  • Seth Jones is a possibility but other teams are interested in him
  • Brock Nelson is on their radar

  • Florida is in the mix to acquire him
  • Has heard Colorado has inquired
Boston Bruins
  • Have kind of admitted defeat for the season but want to stay in the mix
  • Will look at trade options for Trent Frederic and Justin Brazeau

I thought I just read that Jones didn't have much interest at all things must have really picked up in the last couple hours?

That's funny. This trade reminds me of the posters tearing their hair out at acquiring Toffoli because it was such a sure thing that Madden was an important part of our future.

Now, how they subsequently handled Toffoli was a tire fire. But perhaps this is a reminder to carry our opinions a little more lightly, particularly about players we haven't actually watched 'but PROSPEKTZ'.

Its an interesting time. Not sure if ownership want to try to contend, or step back and retool. Its very tough at the moment with their best player Demko still not healthy. He was getting close to form but injured again. I think the activity at this deadline will show us where management is at mentally.

I am hoping they move on from Pettersson, and re-sign Boeser. But if they can't get value from a Pettersson deal, they are stuck with him. Saddly this team probably just needs a no playoff year to get everyone refocused and healthy.

Most posters here valued Madden as a late first. So the Canucks gave up a first and second, while being out of the playoffs, for a playoff rental. That’s why the trade was criticized. Ultimately Madden busted, but Toffoli walked too if you are going to use hindsight to evaluate the trade.

There have been periods where his play has been dire. But the last while he's been decent given his obviously diminished physical capacity. The stats aren't following yet, but last game, for example, wasn't worse than most of his games during the 10 game 15 point stretch without Miller the MAGA moron. I provided the stats because they are in line with how he also looks. Does anyone really think that Boeser currently looks better than a 50-60 point winger? I don’t.

And I totally get that he’s in a tough situation right now, given the low event system Tochett plays, and given that he doesn’t have an elite centre to currently play with. But neither of those things may change anytime soon.

And at the end of the day, it all comes down to money and term. But I expect he’s going to want to get paid closer to his year last year than this year. If he was willing to do the opposite (which makes no sense for him) then I think a fair deal could be had.

With all that said, I do get the thought of re-signing Boeser because we hope to have an elite centre that he can play well with like he did with Miller. But it’s a big risk to take.

Lastly, where are you getting those non-Miller numbers? I thought it was like 6 or 7 points in 8 games which admittedly isn’t bad.
