Would anyone do Garland for Mathieu Joseph and Jacob Bernand-Docker. I don't see JBD really having a future with the Sens and I know Canucks have a thin RHD pool. Sure Joseph isn't the ideal downgrade, but he's still a solid piece that saves you cap space.
I like Joseph but I feel like we can do better with cap shedding moves.

My comment to this would be; Hey Tyler, do you want to be waived or traded? If I trade you to Arizona they'll likely trade you to a contender at the deadline. All good?

My answer would be "waive me.". I call the team's bluff. What's the worst case? Commuting to Abbottford? Getting claimed by Arizona?

If Vancouver did waived him they would have ,
$5m in dead cap space plus at least a million for league min replacement. Vancouver wouldn't save moneu, gets worse and destroyed any remaining value/increased the negative value. Vancouver would be forced to pay a team to take him and those twams would be lining up for the Canucks 1sts or 2nds as a sweetener.

I don't know if being in the AHL is preferable to having to move somewhere else, but you can arrange something like this:

He doesn't have much leverage.

When the team they want to trade you to is the same team they threatening to waive you to then it isn't much of a threat.

Likewise when waiving you to the minors hurts the team more than helps them, both immediately and in future play deals, it is also an empty threat.

Myers to Arizona has to be the most obvious thing in the world. After his bonus, a 1M$ player with a 6M cap hit. He should literally have value to that team.
Getting him to waive ntc would be the thing. I hear it's nice in Phoenix in January, lots of older Canadians go there to retire.

Does Tyler Myers have his no trade clause Still tho?

Why would he go to Arizona, unless bedard goes there

Arizona don't need Myers. They have over $56m committed on just 14 players -LTIRetirments. The floor will only be 62m.

the coyotes are only ~5m off the salary floor with 7 players to sign. they don't need myers at all
Depends on whether they move Shmaltz. Seems likely?, given that he's a decent player with 5.8 cap hit, but he's a backloaded contract- owed about 25M in the last 3 years. I mean nobody needs Tyler Myers obviously lol

Lol. He does not have value for Arizona. This fairytale that’s circulating HF Boards is hilarious

even if they end up under somehow why would they take on myers when they could get paid to take on someone on ltir they don't need to play or pay?

Circulating where? I haven't seen it. If it's not a thing circulating on the Trade board, the Coyotes board, or this one- then where?

Every player the Yotes have on the IR is the definition of overpaid trash. Myers can hold down a spot on their actual playing roster for near league minimum, which they are going to have to pay someone to do anyway. What are they gonna do, dress 5-defencemen next year?

Nobody (by nobody i mean me since this is not thing anybody else is circulating on hf boards) is saying they going to trade something of value for him.

You aren’t the first person to suggest Myers has trade value and not the first person to suggest Arizona will want him to hit the floor

At no point did i say he has trade value. I said they might take him. With very little other value going either way. Like Future considerations level trade value. Going one way or the other.

They could probably move Myers at the deadline with 50% retention for a decent pick.

Arizona is not going to do us favours though. They may take him…if we add. Otherwise why would they? There will be other players on the market teams will pay Arizona to take. That is a better use of their cap space.

Our only hope is a team on the rise with cap space sees value in him. And it’s a team he’s okay going to.

Arizona likely has to pay large amounts of real cash for those other players.

The attraction with Myers for teams way below the cap is that he only costs $1 million in salary.

Very relevant to Myers. Dhaliwal actually did research and came up with some information about Myers’ signing bonus. It is due on September 15th. That date was purposefully picked to further limit his trade appeal. It may be possible to pay earlier but there’s no precedent for that. It’s possible Myers’ declines they pay early or it could become a league and union issue.

Thanks Benning.

That's got to be up there in stupidity with Sutter's retroactive no trade clause.

that is nauseating.. like seriously warped in the head shit

And Chris Gear, who still seems to be under the delusion that he was was a great contract negotiator.
that is a contract bendoverer trait ... that signing bonus date thing is absolute puke.. never heard of that before. any other teams do this shit? probably not
