He's shown up to every prospect camp since getting drafted. Kid wants to make this a career but, at best, will get a two-way AHL/ECHL contract from somewhere else.
I figured since the Canucks rights to him had lapsed that they would not have invited him. I believe the rule is 4 years or the graduation of your class, thus if you drafted a Freshman, ala Demko, when he finished school after 3 more years post draft, you lose his rights.

I'm guessing he is eligible for one more NCAA year next year because of COVID?

He's a big guy. If he has a particular productive year (which some seniors do), he's the profile of a guy that teams look for as a potential hidden-gem college signing. He should be busting his butt to improve in all areas though, because regardless of how he does this year. he's gonna be seeing 2-3 years of AHL time with any club he signs with.
He's NCAA eligible because he's only played 3 years. He went to junior in the USHL in his D+1 since he hadn't graduated HS yet (August 2002 bday), then been at UND for 3 years.

I am wondering if he's eligible for another year after this one.

I guess the the rule is that you had to be in the midst of your COVID season with the school, to be eligible for a bonus year?

You had to be enrolled in college during the 20-21 academic year, which he was not. He spent 20/21 in the USHL, thus is not granted that 5th year. Truscott, if he wanted to, could return to Michigan for a 5th year for example.

The rule is 4 years + cease to be an eligible college player. So in the case of Schultz and Wheeler they ceased to be an eligible college player (by signing with an agent). Kunz is presumably still eligible to go back to college and is going back to college.
