Roy played well. Liked his D zone play for the most part. That pass to Higgins is the reason people complain about Kesler not being a playmaker. Thats a play makers pass.

Kassians goal was also nice. I like how Garret/Shorty are referring him as going to the net hard. Uh no. He played it right by not going to the net hard hanging back enough for rebounds/pass options.

Roy + Higgins = HNNNNGGGGGHHHH
RE-SIGN ROY AT ALL COSTS! Give him a Sleep Country Canada as a signing bonus! All your beds are belong to Roy!!! :scared:

When Kesler comes back, I'd call up Schroeder and do:
Higgins - Roy - Kesler
Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen

Sedin - Sedin - Kesler
Higgins - Roy - Burrows
Raymond - Schroeder - Hansen
Booth/Weise - Lapierre - Sestito

Might as well load up the top line. All very good lines with chemistry.

If I had to guess

1 - Higgins
2 - Schneider
3 - Roy

I think Cory is a 3rd star.....you gotta give him it cuz he got a shutout.......but.......not really a starring performance was required. Oilers were pretty ineffective at getting scoring chances, even though they threw the puck around pretty good sometimes.

This is what I meant about a good center solving many of our problems. I know it's a one-game sample size, but it just looked so natural out there with an actual qualified player in that spot.

Add Kesler, Raymond, Booth and Ballard and we're contenders.

So what is so special with schultz exactly? can skate decent, has a decent shot, and pass, nothing stands out at all

A rested Canucks team whips an Oilers team that blew out the Flames last night and looked like they left their legs in Calgary.

A 23 save SO for Schneider, who wasn't really tested tonight. Most of the credit should go to the D for again cutting down on shots against and especially grade 'A' scoring chances. Roy makes an immediate impact with a high quality assist. The level that Roy is at right now is a level at which we can only hope that Schroeder will someday reach. Kassian breaks his cold streak. The Sedin line were rewarded off their cycle game tonight.

A good win, but should we be convinced that they are working their way out of the funk? They've been so hot-and-cold this year, it's hard to know which team is going to show up on any given night.
