Mrazek and Jack both sucking ass.

Also that's such a blatant f***ing slash by the Canuck before the Tavares penalty. And if we're going full zapruder film I'm not even sure JT's stick even touched the Canuck's face, he sure as f*** sold it though.

Either way it's complete BS that only one penalty was called on the play.

Yeah, that should've been offsetting, although you don't typically see the slash on the stick called if the stick doesn't break.

Also not often you see a team out-shoot a team 53-24 with half the PP opportunities. But hey, sometimes you get goalie'd and this treatment from the refs isn't new to us.

Onto the next one.

The nonstop whining is about to start so I'll just say that this is the first time the Leafs have lost back to back in regulation since October and say good night.

It was an absolutely dominating game but if you have to pick one way to lose, I'd rather lose like this.

It's easier to stomach "getting goalied" when the team isn't also getting it's nose rubbed in dirt.

Getting "outgoalied" happens so often I'm beginning to wonder if we ever actually did solve our goaltending woes that have plagued us since the 04-05 lockout. Stretches of brilliance from the likes of Andersen, Campbell, hell even Reimer for a short while, before inevitably shitting the bed when it matters most.

We have not. We overlooked that position for long long time

I mean we had Rask and Gibson at our finger tips.. What could have been

Wow. Canucks board although thrilled to win is only saying Canucks had no business winning that game.

Another poor start, no finish around the net 5 on 5, allowed Canucks to get to the net to easily early on.

It's been a while, but we're getting outgoalied on a regular basis again.

We dominated most of that game.

We're not really getting "Goalied" but Demko and Markstrom were great the past couple of nights.

It's more of a three step process.

1) Everyone retreats to clog the slot from the faceoff dots down
2) concede perimeter shots
3) then create mismatched rebound scramble plays in the slot where you have numbers and body positioning.

If I were to coach a game against the Leafs, that would be the way to beat them.

Leafs need to pull apart these static defenses, create cross seam plays and make the other team fear standing around and not let them set up for siege mode.

Doesn't even look like Tavares touched him with his stick...it's an embellishment.

All in All guys played well and were the better team, victimized by some bad bounces and a couple of miscues. Very entertaining game. Guys pushed hard most of the game. Playoffs are coming.
Moral victories get you knocked out first round
Becoming a regular thing now
Have more trust in mrazek then Campbell right now but come on dubas…ITS TIME
Adress the needs please or else start planning for next year

Felt like the Canucks were holding on for 55 minutes of the game.

That isn't a very good team and without Quinn Hughes their best player they looked lost most of the game.

Got lousy goaltending again, but not going to win much only scoring 2 goals and no 5v5 goals.
I don't really think the goaltending was that bad. The 3rd goal optically looked bad, but Demko kicked 2 exact rebounds into the middle of the ice off similar plays. The difference is Toronto didn't jump on the rebounds/Vancouver cleared the puck away.

Lots of chances but not much finish.

That means we should get more gritty players that can hit right?

Well I mean they can set the tone, maybe get some garbage goals, make life difficult for the goalies also cause more turnoverrs

Just because Demko did it or made a similar play doesn't mean it wasn't a bad play him by either. You still gotta make that save

The score kind of says it all. It was a 3-2 loss and Mrazek was good enough to deliver a 4-3 win. That's about a below-ish average night with no meltdowns in net, though allowing the early goal wasn't a great way to get started.

Habs had no business being in that series, but here we are

It is us, that's the Trash franchise

Hyperbolic, but your point is well taken...

Our franchise, who hasn't won f*** all, nor sniffed an opportunity at winning f*** all since the cell phone that most people in this thread are posting on, was invented, have no business calling other franchise's "trash".

yeah well we just don't make their lives difficult enough. lots of shots off great individual efforts but we don't change angles on them often or get bodies in front. Most of our chances are off of said individual efforts or 5 foot touch passes that don't really get the goalie moving. teams like tampa and colorado play amazing lateral hockey while we just pile up chances. admittedly high danger chances but hot goalies can handle those.

Or maybe it is because it is a very difficult save for a goalie to make, so that is why players attempt that shot/pass of the goalies far side pad. The difference is, you need your team to assist you sometimes.

Yep, Ryan Reeves, the takeaway machine.

Speed on the forecheck is more effective.
