A very good argument for the eye test and conventional scouting over "advanced statistics."

Except the eye test says Martinook has been playing very well and has been very consistent and matches his statistics. He's by no means a skill guy, but he has a role and has performed it very well against the other teams toughest competition.

When he's been on the ice 5v5 facing the toughest competition, the Canes have scored 13G and given up 6 in 356 minutes.

Compare that to:
Svech: 13GF and 17GA in 360 minutes
Aho: 17GF and 25GA in 368 minutes
Roslovic: 17GF, 19GA in 339 minutes
Jarvis: 9GF, 11GA in 262 minutes
Even Necas: 24GF, 22GA in 368 minutes

These aren't "advanced" stats, these are just goals scored vs. goals given up 5v5.
