The EOMRS Theory is now 2-0-1.

Key story lines:

Noah Hanifin plays in Boston for the first time with more than 40 family and friends in attendance. He's getting a taste of playing in front of the crowd that he'll be playing in front of regularly as soon as he hits UFA. As we were told when he signed, he only did so as an 18YO so he could get to UFA quicker and sign with the Bruins. I mean, the great Bobby Orr even rented out a suite for Hanifin's family and friends to use for this game so the courting has already begun! (please ignore that the Orr Group represents Hanifin)

JM-Liles "may" go against his former team for the first time, unless of course his dirty, goonish play, which he has been known for throughout his career, gets him suspended.

GM Sweeney continues to be the laughing stock of the NHL for making terrible deadline deals like trading for a Leaf's cast-off in JM Liles, who was bad 4 years ago for the Leafs, so he can only be worse now that he's older. Also, trading for the inconsistent and streaky Lee Stempniak, who also is washed up and won't contribute anything. On top of that, although Sweeney didn't give up any key prospects or 1st rounders, he gave up 2nd (2017),3rd (2016),4th(2016) and 5th(2017) :amazed: to get these washed up, not even NHL caliber players. :shakehead Just imagine all the prospects he could have gotten for those picks. Doesn't he know that it's better to blow it up and trade everyone for Picks/Prospects rather than to make it to the playoffs?

Hank, what's the magic number?

I used to hate Edwards, but I've come to accept what he is, a blatant homer and I actually find him amusing (in a ridiculous sort of way). Of course, if I had to listen to him much, it would grow old quickly.

We haven't won in Boston since Feb 2012.

And the game on Jan 31 1999 ended in a 0-0 tie. Those poor fans.

Having said that, I wouldn't be surprised if the Bruins had a letdown tonight.

Hanifin has a long con going, where he wins the respect and adoration of the Canes Organization and fans alike. Only to one day sign with the Boston Bruins and score the game winner in game 7 against the Hurricanes, sending the Bruins on to the 2022 Eastern Conference finals. As we all weep into our beers, he smiles and knows he has delivered a dagger to the heart of the Carolinas, and avenged the great Tim Thomas and company for the 2009 Semi-final upset.

22 points. 11-4-0 gets it done.

I've got it at 12-3. Still feel it's gonna take 95 points which meant a 14-3-1 run following the TDL. Aaaaand we're still on track.

Hook, line and sinker alert! Good fishing. :naughty:

Isn't Hanifin represented by Bobby Orr's group? So while there may be that element of "hometown boy", Orr is a professional likely out to get the best deal he can for his client.

With all of this said, I've been looking the numbers and salivating while trying to figure out how we keep this group of young blueliners together.

Edit: Faulker27 beat me to it.

According to sportsclubstats:

95 points gives us an 89.7% chance.

94 points gives us a 77.0% chance.

93 points gives us a 59.6% chance.

I'm putting our magic number at 93 because reasons. Fight me.

I like the handful of posts in the BOS GDT where they discuss how low little PIM our highest penalized player has. Like the idea of a disciplined hockey team blows their minds.

I think it's their subtle way of saying the Canes are a bunch of pansies, and they are probably right in that regard.

I do like how one of the posters couldn't see the sarcasm in the "dirty Liles" comments. Yeah, I get that teams don't regularly visit other teams boards so it can be hard to tell sometimes, but missing that is pretty comical. One born every minute I guess.

You forgot the :sarcasm:

You will find the B's aren't as tough as they used to be. We have a number of Hobbits on the team.
