I still don't completely understand how that was ruled a goal. Closest I can come is:
refs: "we should have ruled the play dead before Ward skated into the net but we blew that call so good goal."

The nhl ref MO seems to be that screwing up one call is best fixed by screwing up another even more severely

The skid ends today.

We took our lumps last three games, and I knew it would happen eventually. We lost three games to the defending champs, not the Red Wings. There was a lot to learn from that. Make no mistake, this team has some tweaks to become a serious contender but we will get there. Lemonade out of lemons...
