Candy cane

i do, i think sticks without grip are too slippery for my tastes and grip sticks are too grippy.

so i buy grip sticks and candy cane them to take the grip off a tad.

it suppose to make the stick a little stiffer but i don't think you will notice much of a difference.

Does anybody candy cane there stick? What does it do other then giving the stick a grip?

Do you mean the entire stick, or just the piece going up to the knob?

I did it to just the top once and I didn't really notice much of a difference.

I candy caned mine for about 15 years but it was because the aluminum shafts were rather slick when wet.

I never candy caned wood sticks and I certainly do not candy cane my composites I use today. I do however buy the Harrow shafts which have different semi-gloss rubber coating on them for grip purposes and they are fine that way without tape.

If candy cane tape jobs work for some then so be it .... enjoy it if it works for you.

Does the stick become stiffer after?

NO!

I did that on my RBK 1K wood stick, that was only because the paint kept chipping and getting on my hands
