I will never care about any prospect outside the Top 10 to the extent that your "bombshell" cared about Mesar.

I earned my "originalness" as a Montreal fan. Did my MAG here, my entire minor hockey, I'm French-Canadian, I literally learned English on Hfboards out of respect for anglophone fans and their contributions to this franchise, and studied the history of the game to an extent that might as well qualify me as an autist. I owe nothing to no one. I don't care about "expertise" unless it's proven, à la Bowman. Especially considering the level of nepotism going on in Hockey.

While this is a little harsh, I will say that the Canadiens being run like a corporation instead of a hockey team is one of the reasons the team constantly fails.

Apparently Briere doesn't think Michkov will still be there @ 7. So it seems he might be quite interested in maybe taking him if he is still there at 7 and I think he will be.

The Habs need to quickly start leaking that they may take him a 5 now, even if they won't, just to see if the Flyers want to try and move up for him from 7. I still very much prefer the Habs just take Michkov at 5 though if still there but what can you do.

I saw the tweet posted in the stickied draft thread here. Can't say for sure if the quote is accurate or not but it was posted there.

Seems it's from late May so probably nothing to it.

Edit: I've been looking into it and maybe Briere said that Michkov won't be there at 7 from this podcast. The May 26th date is the same as the tweet so maybe that's where it came from.

I'd listen but it won't play for me unfortunately.

I can't even imagine the very high cost it would take for the Habs to try and convince the Ducks to move down from 2nd to 5th and to pass on Fantilli. I'd say good luck with that attempt Kent but you'll very likely won't like the cost very much to get the Ducks to even consider such a move.

I see no point in paying the cost of moving up 1 spot to 4th unless Smith goes 3rd to CBJ and Carlsson drops to 4th and you really want Carlsson over anyone else left on the board.
