We all need to stop overreacting lol. This team is very clearly coasting. We all lost our minds last year too lol. On Jones, he obviously has some warts but he looks good on the offensive side. The D issues are fixable. Montour was rough last season too.

Nobody in playoffs is an easy opponent. If you don’t have what it takes to go far, losing in first round versus second round doesn’t matter that much. Actually, if you’re gonna lose in round one or two, might as well go out sooner and get a longer rest.

I suspect they don’t care about the opponent that much. They’re not playing for position to barely get out of round one. They’re planning how to get to the finals and win it again.

Unless people believe that you can both crush your opponents the last 15-20 games of the regular season and then continue to crush them in 25-28 games in the playoffs, then people need to choose which one you go for more than the other. I’m now convinced they’re going for playoff energy rather than regular season position.

The difference between this year and last year is the same lineup was playing before they started slumping last season. It was mental, but they had played at a high level before. This lineup specifically started slumping when the lineup changed. This lineup hasn't proved it is at a certain level. By the time they get back to the lineup that's played at a high level, it might be too late.

They definitely haven't looked as good this year but the East is terrible. Tampa looks great right now but there are no scary teams. Kuli, Ekblad, and Chucky will be huge adds (assuming he comes back). The D core is so dead it's hard to put any stock in anything.
