it's unrealistic to even expect a Stanley Cup Finals to have this many top players all playing at once. I think what it really shows is how much we missed best on best international hockey and how much higher the level is than the NHL will ever be.
Everyone on the ice being able to skate well and make crisp accurate passes transforms it to practically a different sport. Add in the physical element and intensity and it's some of the highest quality hockey we've ever seen imo.

Canada had zero shots in 11.5 minutes… come again? Canada only has two even strength scoring chances and one was McDavid’s goal. Outside of their PP’s the Canadians look like the weaker team and it’s not even close. Americans are out working them, stronger than them, more tenacious, quicker breakouts and much better press on the forecheck. If they keep their head and don’t take penalties they’ll win this 4-2.

Yeah, the way things are going they will have to improve or continue to be extremely opportunistic to win.

He made me proud to be Canadian.

What are the odds Matt Tkatchuk skates by Tom Wilson and says they’re fighting on the opening face off? Fake toughness challenging 180 pound Hagel like that. And then Tkatchuk got his ass handed to him by a lightweight.
He’s a spot picker.

Usually Bennett is too, ie let me run from Frederick (who is a lousy fighter) and instead fight Hampus.

The fact that he went with Brady was solid.

100%. even a lower level of skill can be carried by exceptional hatred. those flames-oilers games when tkachuk was still in calgary were some of the best weve had in years
I think it’s just a combination of things like social media and how connected everyone is. They know everyone. The hatred isn’t there. The genuine hatred drives a lot of it.

Anyway good chat. Enjoy the 2nd.
