To be fair, this is a brand new tournament and no one really knew what to expect. I was a bit hesitant about it myself, but I think me and a lot of others are pleasantly surprised.

Yes but you can’t get away with playing this physical with IIHF rules and refs. You also can’t fight with IIHF rules or you get kicked out.

It’ll still be very intense like in 2010 but you will never see a start to a game like this again.

expansion has been so bad for hockey. we need to cut the amount of teams in the league in half, this is so much higher quality than any playoff game ive seen in years

it's unrealistic to even expect a Stanley Cup Finals to have this many top players all playing at once. I think what it really shows is how much we missed best on best international hockey and how much higher the level is than the NHL will ever be.

Canada had zero shots in 11.5 minutes… come again? Canada only has two even strength scoring chance and one was McDavid’s goal. Outside of their PP’s the Canadian’s look like the weaker team and it’s not even close. Americans are out working them, stronger than them and more tenacious.

High danger chances 5 on 5 were 4-0 Canada. If not for an extremely weak goal the US had nothing outside of their PP.

even in the playoffs, i miss the level of how stacked teams were in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. we need teams on the level of the red wings and avs back if we want that level of hockey and rivalry back.

NHL knocked it out of the park. Amazing tourney and incredible 20 minutes, way better than whatever NBA is doing in their All star weekend.
