Would be amazing to watch but I still give the edge to Canada. The talent is somewhat of a wash but Canada has chemistry on their side. This crop of Canadians has been playing together since junior and they've done nothing but leave teams in their wake.

As a hypothetical exercise, putting together a world team is pretty fun. Would be amazing to see that kind of talent out there.

You would not get "Team World" to care, especially since they are facing a single country. But a way to get two maxed out teams to actually care, is to make it Team NA (US/Canada) vs. Team Europe (SWE/FIN/RUS/etc).

Best of 5 series. Would be awesome.

Find it weird that a lot of people are putting Shattenkirk into their lineup. He's a good player and I would've put him on Team USA, but I'd take guys like John Carlson, Justin Faulk and Nicklas Hjalmarsson before him.

I feel like that would be more insulting to the US than anything. If you're building the best team possible, how many US born players would make an NA team?

Really not trying to pile on to their team after the recent exit but a majority of their best players are really young and wouldn't make an NA team today. That's why I was thinking a Canada team would be more compelling.

On my team in the original post I tried to think about synergy. All of the defenseman you posted are great players but, for me, I feel like Shattenkirk is the perfect power play specialist. That's why I have him in the 6th spot - Sheltered minutes and sharing power play time with Karlsson.

That would be hard. Canada for sure would have the incentive. All of the Canadians would. However, would the Swedes? Americans? Russians? Who claims victory if Canada loses? I mean, we are talking about players from probably 10 nations. It would be anti-climatic on their end I am sure.
