GDT: Canada vs Finland (U18)

Typical Finland to get the only close quarterfinal matchup when every other good team gets a free win(except Canada of course).

Not feeling very confident about this one.
Funny, I feel the same in reverse. This Team Canada is drawing from a quarter of the CHL and is yet to play as a team, while I have never seen a group produce so many (usually unforced) turnovers. I think that spells disaster against a highly structured team, which Finland typically puts forth.

If the reason you're not very confident is because you think Finland's a structured team, I have good news for you.

Need a very strong game from Kemell to win this one, not to mention much better goaltending than vs Sweden. Finland will play better but I reckon Canada takes it 5-3.

I think Bedard, Fantilli and Dyck are going to have to put the team on their collective backs today. This roster is simply too flawed to win a game like this if Bedard is quiet again. Sova coming back should be a good boost to a back end that has really struggled.

Not sure how Leinonen can cover so little of the goal while being so big. I guess that's a talent in its own right.

Interesting play...

Weak call, embellishment and a dummy move from Bedard to get his stick so high.

1-1

At least it's 1-1 and has looked a bit better lately, Bedard's not really accomplished much.

Are they playing this game on a flooded soccer field? The ice looks huge.

Is this the main arena they play in? First game I watch in this year's tournament.
