my memory is getting a little sketchy as I get older, but I think it was the 1995 Red Deer/Calgary tournament against the Czech Rep.

That was a game Canada won 5-0 to the best of my recollection. The poster was referring to a game in which Canada was losing 5-0 but came back to win.

I can't think of any other game than the Canada v Czech Rep game NY's Eve '94. Canada fell behind (can't remember by how many. It was a long time ago) and then the comeback and winning 7-5.

I was a university student at the time and pretty well juiced by that time of the evening. NY's Eve '94.

Canada didn't play Russia in the prelims. They did come back from 0-3 against the USA on New Year's Eve. The Pierre McGuire "DUSTIN TOKARSKI" game. Is that the one?

Thanks for your help everyone but my memories are blurred and I did find a game which I believe to be the one but it wasn’t how I remembered

They didn't come back. They were down against the Russians 6-1 in the third and came back to make it 6-5 but still ended up losing. But yes, as cg98 said, it was 2012, not 2009.
