6 save shutout.

The mic just picked up someone asking Ingram "easiest shutout you've ever had?"

Someone find that Dominik Hasek quote from his shutout against MTL years ago ;)

Not bad. Final shots were 44-6. I'm just glad Vehvilainen wasn't in net for Canada or this game could have been a nailbiter!

Nice to see Chabot get player of the game. I like the progression he has shown so far compared to last years WJC.

Missed the game but I noticed from the boxscore that Mitchell Stephens didn't play in the third period. Did he get hurt?

I missed the first period but it doesn't seem like I missed much. Liked what I saw from Lauzon in a somewhat expanded role and hope that he can continue to get minutes. Barzal still looks like the best player on Canada. Hopefully Stephens isn't hurt. It will be interesting to see what Canada does with the goaltenders since this game was worthless.

I have four things to say:

- Team Canada continues to be undefeated in Toronto. (yep, if you haven't heard that yet, the national team - which includes world juniors, canada/world cups, '72 Summit series, everything - has never in history lost a single game in Toronto, ever)

- I don't get how can a canadian fan go into the tournament being pessimistic about its own team, come on! I'm saying that because they beat Russia and it wasn't close really, they look great, and none of that was supposed to happen really. This nation has better depth than any other and could easily send two teams into this tournament that could win gold.

- as for that post above, yes, only 6 shots on goal in the entire game is the new record.

- this team is going to win gold.

On the small ice, Canada is the GOAT.

On the big ice, it's a coin flip at the World Juniors and it often doesn't turn out well. Hopefully they can adjust like the senior mens team has in the 2014 olympics and two most recent world championships.

On another note, in recent years one can tell right off the bat if Canda has a shot at winning gold in the world juniors. In 205, they looked unstoppable from the start. In 2016, they looked lost from the start. At the start of this tournament, they do look poised to prove all the doubters wrong.

Sweden and the USA are their main competition

Didn't they lose the first game against the USA in the World Cup this year?

Did Slovakia forget there was a game tonight?

Forget the score, how does a team of Slovakia's usual caliber only manage six shots on net the entire game? That's the kind of shot differential you expect if Canada's playing Japan, not a decent hockey playing country like Slovakia.

They thought they could trap their way to victory. When the score got away, nobody, including the coaching staff knew how to handle the situation.
