Canada looked like they had more cohesion in the exhibitions, I think having less "star power" actually might be a good thing. It's not like they are lacking for skill.

Exactly, they don't seem to have a Jake Virtanen-type player this year so that's a good thing.

their kinda like the under dogs, which I like, expectations are not as high, being underestimated looks like a deadly advantage. Canada still has the most "depth" in the tourny still with the most 1st rounders, and high picks, (Dubois, Strome)

I hope they win.

the hater mind set. I personlly thought the issue was Canada's defence and goaltending, hard to really pin the blame on one player who everyone though sucked even before the tournament started.

Just realized McDavid would still be eligible to play, I'd pay money to watch him go against juniors.

There is some serious underrating of Russia and overrating of Canada here.

Somewhere in-between exists the reality.

I'm really hoping for a good tournament from Gauthier. I'm guessing he'll be on seek and destroy mode tonight and using his size. He's so bloody strong.

Teams coached by Bragin have never started well, and the crowd tonight will likely be a decisive factor. Russia has shown no team connectivity at all in the pre-tournament. I have to reluctantly believe that Canada will win.
