Are Dach and Cozens really not in consideration here?
With the forward core we have right now no, thats not including any more possible reassignments or loans from NHL teams.

Just guessing that Rasmussen will be available based on what’s been said, obviously no guarantees... I also would like to put Vilardi and Beaudin on the team but health permitting at the moment, I’ll leave them off. Could see Robert Thomas back yet, which would be a huge get for the team and rather unlikely but maybe the injury to Comtois gets him lost in the shuffle and back as an option. For the time being, this is what I think I would send IF the tournament started today. Lines can be mixed and matched, I’m guessing if Rasmussen is available that he’d likely only be if he was played down the middle.

Anderson-Dolan- Rasmussen- Suzuki
Lafreniere- Glass- Tippett
Formenton- Hayton- Mattheos
Frost- Bowers- Studnicka
Veleno

Smith- Dobson
McIsaac- Bouchard
Joseph- Mitchell
Brook

DiPietro
Scott
Rodrigue

Pretty good roster, team looks strong down the middle, the D looks much better with Bouchard in the top 4 and goaltending should be solid.

I agree with everything except not sure on your last 2 dmen, not saying I disagree just that I think more of the season will have to play out. I think Smith, Dobson, McIsaac, Bouchard and Joseph make up the top 5 but 6 and 7 are up for grabs. I'm also not sure on some bottom of the line up guys, Mattheos, Frost, Veleno and Studnicka I could all see getting cut in favour of someone else. For example, Frost had a weak camp in the sense of showing he could fill a role from the fourth line instead of a scoring line. So if we're talking a 4th line spot I could see Veleno, Studnicka and Bowers beating him out. If they like Frost further up the line up and to help on the PP then I could see him making it.

Still a few question marks but I think the top end of the roster is starting to shake out a bit here

I'm not big on McIsaac, having watched him several times over the last few years. I want to be impressed by him but I rarely am. Curious to see how he does in the super series and then later presumably when he is invited to camp.

With regard to camp, I am curious to see which NCAA players will be invited. Canada has two first rounders and two second rounders in the NCAA. I'm expecting Bowers and Mitchell to be invited, and I suspect that Mitchell has a good chance to make the team, but the camp is huge for those guys.

Bouchard being sent down instantly fixes the D. I’d say Canada has an elite top 4 now:

Joseph-Bouchard
Smith-Dobson

Outside of Sweden, nobody else stacks up on the back end.

I feel the same way about McIsaac. Might take him as the number 6 or 7 but not in the top 4.

He is better then Joseph if you are sold on him on the top pairing. A lot of people soured on McIsaac based off a bad start to his season last year and haven't really come back around. He has been lights out this year.

This looks very good on paper. Two 19 year old 1st round picks on the top pairing, and two 18 year old 1st round picks on the second pair.

If Finland gets both Vaakanainen and Jokiharju back from the NHL, I think they would be in the conversation for best defence as well, along with Canada and Sweden.

Rasmussen's TOI creeping up to 17-18 PG. regardless of production, I can't see Detroit releasing him when he's playing those minutes. Thomas in St. Louis is, however, a different story.

Lafreniere Glass Tippet
Formenton Thomas Suzuki
Frost Hayton Mettheos
Ratcliff Dolan Studnicka
Veleno

Smith Bouchard
Joseph Dobson
Bryam Brook
Mitchell

I'll be brave and take 17 year old Byram, but Hockey Canada won't go that route. hopefully he can put on a show in the WHL-Russia series and get into the conversation.

Looks like a solid gold medal contending team to me. and with 6 players eligible to return the following year to go for the 3-peat.

Yeah I've only read good things bout his start this year and he was one of the better defenders in the summer showcase/camp as well. Hes got a long history with hockey Canada too. I'm a wings fan so I might be biased towards him but barring injury with the start hes had and the summer he had I find it very hard to believe he isnt there in December.

They arent going to take a draft eligible Byram over him or guys like Brook or Woo

Formenton - JAD - Mattheos
Frost - Studnicka - Suzuki
Foudy - Hayton - Lavoie
Delleandrea

Smith - Dobson
McIsaac - Bouchard
Joseph - Brook

What do you guys think of the chances for a player like Ryan McGregor in Sarnia? I'm a Swede that follows Sarnia and I think he is a real solid two way center that works extremely hard and is PK-specialist. I know he wasn't at the summer showcase but I think he should at least be considered as a 3rd or 4th line center.

To be honest I don't keep track on a lot of Canadian players (I'm more interested in the Swedes in the CHL) so I don't know how much better/worse he is than other centers. But I'm curious, do you guys think he could have a shot at the final roster?

Seems pretty unlikely. His competition for that kind of spot is more highly touted players who are experienced with Hockey Canada and are scoring more, like a Veleno or Studnicka. If he can play wing that would help a lot but he still seems like a huge long shot.

For anyone who follows the OHL, do Frost and Hayton play on the same line? If so, who plays centre?

Any relation to Hugo?

I honestly would be confident saying that Mitchell is more of a lock than Joseph at this point.
