Can you get cheap tickets right before the game?

Hey, I've never tried getting tickets the day of the game before. Just curious if anyone has any advice. Some friends scored some free suite tickets but I myself and another have no tickets. We figured we would see if we can score any cheap either on stubhub or scalping right before the game. If not, just watch at that xfinity place I guess..

Has anyone had any luck scalping tickets or anything day of the game?

Or If anyone is trying to unload some tickets for tomorrows game due to them not being able to make it.

Go to stubhub like 2 hours to 1 hour prior to the game. A lot of buyers will pull their tickets off around then and decide to just go to the game, but some who really can't make the game will discount their prices ridiculously.

Last 5 games I've gone to I've gotten pairs in the lowers for under $70 per ticket and we've never sat higher than row 12.

To share some examples, about 1.5 hrs till gametime last yr we snagged 2 5th row behind the Flyers' bench vs. Pittsburgh for $65 each. And about 2 hours to game-time last year we snagged 2 3rd row Flyers shoot 2x for $55 each vs. the Rangers.

If you're just looking to get into the game as cheap as possible, without fail there are always some dirt cheap upper level tix available right around the 2 hour mark.

You might have a little bit more trouble pulling this off tomorrow since it's a weekend game and very few people have to work, but it can still be done. If you don't find anything to your liking though, I wouldn't worry because Xfinity live is a great place to watch a game too.

If its against a team that's not so good you can get tickets off stubhub that morning of the game if its a 7 o'clock start. I got lower level tickets against Florida earlier this year for under $50 that same day of the game.

alright thanks for the advice. We will check it out. Currently we can get upper bowl for $65. But I was hoping to only spend like $35ish maybe. So hopefully can score a upper bowl ticket late. If not its just a spur of the moment weekend trip. I don't mind just having a few beers and watching

ya, stubhub is your best friend for cheap, last-minute tickets

lowest is already $50 in the upper bowl. it'll come down a bit more

Another option is eBay and start contacting sellers around noon to see how low they will go. Prices come down quite a bit as each hour passes.

If you wait until an hour or two before the game to buy the tickets via stubhub how do you get the tickets in time? I assume by email but they can be late sometimes then you have to print them, that really doesn't leave much time

well, if they're electronic, you just download them. If they're actual physical copies, I have no clue

I have a spot about 10 mins from the stadium complex. It's a hotel, they have a business center. I walk in, print them out, walk back out, drive to stadium.

One time I had a problem, the seller didn't forward the tickets via email properly. Stubhub refunded my money and since I was already @ the stadium they gave me tix that were actually even better than what I had originally purchased (this was for an Iggles game though). I've had to call customer service on numerous occasions for various reasons though and they're always extremely quick and have resolved the situation inside of 10 mins.

As long as you have a location to print, I wouldn't worry about it.

They also have a fan protect guarantee, so if you buy tix and the email is delayed or what not and it prevents you from getting to the event on time, you're getting a refund of some sort.

If they are hard tickets, they are automatically dropped from StubHub once they pass the point where they can't be shipped. Only electronic tickets are on there on gameday.

I think this is accurate for Flyers games, but for the Eagles and some playoff games w/ other sports, they have Last Minute Pickup of hard tickets @ the Stubhub office in the Holiday Inn by the stadium, so both e-tickets and hard tickets are available up to like 30 mins prior to start of the game.

You are correct, sir. I believe all NFL and some MLB games. NHL and NBA ... not yet. They probably base it on volume, with football and baseball bringing a lot more people to the venue.

I've often looked at doing this if you live a few hours away (like me) you can normally get them that morning or the night before at about 3/4 or half of what they actually wanted. Obviously the longer you wait the better the deal but, we don't all have that luxury.

Just found out that Stubhub is compatible with the Passbook app (new to iOS6) for a select number of teams and the Flyers are one of them.

I was thinking of using it for the purpose of getting cheap tickets like 20 minutes before a game but being as though I've never used it I'm a little hesitant to try. You know if it doesn't work properly and I'm not in a position to print my tickets then I'm completely screwed. Does anyone have any experience with this or passbook in general?

Has anyone ever used the College ID to buy cheap tickets? If so, what if you no longer go to school but your ID does not have an expiration date on it to indicate otherwise? Would it still be accepted?

A word of caution about Stubhub

Stubhub is a great service but be very careful about buying concert tickets from it. Here's why....Back at Xmas, my wife and I saw that there was an Avent Brothers show coming to our town in Feb. She went on to Ticketmaster, bought and printed out four e-tix for our two kids and their respective significant others. Several weeks later (and completely unseen by us since, like most people, we fail to look too closely at our credit card statements) the ticket price was refunded to our credit card. We received no notice about this via email. Sooooo....the night of the show, the four of them went to the concert and were told that the tickets were not valid! Luckily, they were actually able to get better seat replacements for less than the originals that we had purchased when they explained that nobody on our end had any idea that the tickets had been cancelled. This was very cool of the venue because the replacement tix were literally front row at the center of the stage.

Stubhub factors into this because of the reason the tickets were cancelled in the first place. Apparently, the original tickets were sold from an area that was supposed to be set aside for the band's official fan-club. Some of the many cancelled tickets (they said there were about two hundred cancelled from a 3500 seat venue) had been subsequently resold by their purchasers on Stubhub. The folks at the music hall told my daughter that they had had to turn away several stubhub ticket holders who likely then had no recourse and would have been out of the money they had paid.

I can't see that this would happen when buying sporting event tickets but it's always good to be careful.
